I've spent 18 years in the architecture industry, which is historically largely male (though the balance is steadily improving). In roles such as construction or design technology, as a woman, it can sometimes feel like you completely stand out - not always in a good way. But it's becoming more and more common to see female leaders in this field. My hope is that one day we all stand out because of our unique skills and talents, and not because of our gender.
